2024 Rosé of Pinot Noir
Tasting Notes
With a luminous coral-pink hue, the 2024 Fort Ross Rosé of Pinot Noir is an exuberant reflection of the coast’s sun-dappled slopes and cool ocean breezes. Aromas of ripe white peach, alpine strawberry, and lemon blossom rise delicately from the glass. On the palate, this Rosé of Pinot Noir strikes a graceful balance between vibrancy and finesse, offering hints of mandarin orange, and pink apple. Four months of aging in neutral French oak lend a subtle texture, complementing the crisp acidity and mineral tension that carry through the wine. A dynamic and textured rosé, this bottling captures the allure and energy of the glorious 2024 vintage while delivering the coastal purity that defines Fort Ross Vineyard.

Vineyard Notes
The 2024 grape growing season along the Sonoma Coast, generally and in our vineyard, was marked by near-ideal conditions, leading to what many vintners consider one of the best vintages in decades. Abundant winter rains replenished soil moisture, setting the stage for healthy vine growth. Budbreak occurred in late April, and was followed by minimal rain and no frost, allowing the flowering season to progress beautifully. Our typical coastal fog continued to lap at the feet of our vineyard throughout the summer, contributing to a cool environment, which encouraged perfectly balanced acidity. The gentle weather continued into September with enough warmth to gradually ripen the fruit and give us ample time to make picking decisions. The largest surprise this year was the bountiful harvest, resulting from perfect weather conditions. Fruit quality was exceptional across the vineyard. White wines from this vintage are noted for their brightness and aromatic intensity, while red wines display deep color and beautiful textures.
Winemaker Notes
Fort Ross Vineyard Rosé is made from 100% Estate Pinot Noir, using the French saignée method. After hand-sorting, the grapes were de-stemmed then allowed to soak on the skins for only 6 hours. A small amount of free-run juice was then “bled” and separated from the recently crushed grapes and then fermented without further contact with the skins and seeds. The wine was barrel fermented and aged for 6 months in neutral French oak barrels

Medium salmon copper color. Vibrant aromas of pomegranate, dried rose petals and a dash of blood orange. Full in the mouth with generous flavors, savory notes that lend complexity and edgy acidity with a firm backbone. Finishes very long and dry with rich extract.
